Duplex Ultrasound Scans
Many patients attending Professor Bradbury's clinics will undergo a Duplex Ultrasound Scan.
For example, it is used to assess:

The severity and pattern of varicose veins

The size of abdominal aortic aneurysms

The extent of any blockages in the arteries of the legs and carotid arteries in the neck
Duplex is completely safe and non-invasive investigation that is performed in the clinic room and does not involve exposure to any radiation (x-rays).
If they want to, patients can look at the screen while the scan is being performed and a 'running commentary' of what is being seen can be provided to increase patients' understanding.
